ABOUT HEAR MY CRY FOUNDATION
TAZORA'S STORY
Where Hear My Cry Foundation began a story of pain, healing, hope, and purpose.
THE BEGINNING
TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE
My husband, Daryl Moore, was adopted and lost his adoptive mother in 2004. Although he longed for a relationship with his biological mother and siblings, those connections never came. After losing the woman who raised him, Daryl struggled deeply with feelings of abandonment, loneliness, and rejection that followed him for the rest of his life.
While I knew my husband was hurting, I did not fully understand the depth of the pain he carried internally. His depression revealed itself in many ways; emotional distance, isolation, and self-destructive behavior. As his wife, it was heartbreaking to watch someone I loved battle silent pain that I could not heal on my own.
On July 22, 2012, my husband lost his battle with suicide.
In an instant, my life changed forever. I found myself grieving the loss of my husband while raising our three children alone. Behind closed doors, I struggled with overwhelming sorrow, unanswered questions, and the painful realization that mental health challenges are often suffered in silence. Looking back, I now recognize how many signs of emotional distress went unseen and unsupported.
My name is Tazora Dotie-Moore, and I am the founder of Hear My Cry Foundation.
What began as a personal tragedy became a mission to create hope and healing for others. I founded Hear My Cry Foundation to ensure that individuals and families facing mental health challenges have access to support, resources, and compassionate care regardless of their financial circumstances. Through suicide prevention education, free counseling support, community outreach, and advocacy, our organization works to break the stigma surrounding mental health and remind people that they are not alone.

Today, Hear My Cry Foundation has impacted hundreds of individuals and families through mental health support services, suicide awareness initiatives, and community-based programs designed to restore hope and save lives.
To anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or thoughts of suicide: please know that your life matters. There is hope, there is help, and there are people who care.
Together, we can turn pain into purpose, break the silence surrounding mental health, and create communities where healing begins and no one suffers alone.
