Malton Cook Jr, M.A., LPC

Malton Cook is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas. He’s worked in the mental health field since 2011 post completing his Bachelor of Art in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas and later going on to complete his Masters of Art in Professional Counseling at Amberton University. During his time in mental health, he has worked in several settings which include but are not limited to inpatient mental health treatment, outpatient mental health treatment, residential dual diagnosis treatment, and most recently integrated behavioral health.

His experience includes working with individuals across the lift span from age 18 to 85. His ideal populations are adjustment issues/ life transition issues, depression, anxiety, anger management, mood disorders, millennials, individuals of color, and LGBTQIA+.

His therapeutic approach includes person-centered and solution-focused. Clients are experts in their life and seek to help clients think or do things differently in an effort to increase their personal satisfaction with life. Additionally, Malton implements the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to assist clients in modifying faulty thinking patterns and behaviors to alleviate presenting symptoms.

Malton’s goal is to assist individuals in pursuing identified changes in a safe environment and comfortable environment. He looks forward to joining you on your journey to accomplish identified goals.
