Freda Thomas, LCSW

FREDA THOMAS is a LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER with a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. At her private practice in Irving, Texas (Las Colinas), she specializes as a Grief Recovery Specialist. She assists clients through awareness, education, and authentic connection to empower them to move beyond pain and heal after loss.


With over fifteen years of experience as a therapist, Freda has worked with a broad spectrum of clients, spanning the life cycle from young children to older adults in a variety of modalities: individual, family, and group therapy. Her areas of expertise include Mood Disorders, Grief Recovery, Anger Management, Suicide Prevention, and Spirituality & Mental Health. Freda is an interactive, narrative therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to assist clients in alleviating personal problems by shifting one’s thinking about their unique story. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Although she specializes in Grief Recovery, Freda is passionate about supporting people through a range of unique circumstances and their journey to healing.
